Killifish Keeping Tips!
Tips From Members
" To increase number of egg spawning spots for species that spawn close to the knot on the mop; tie the strands of the mop together (with a loop) every 5-6cms or so " Serkan
" If you only find a few eggs evertime you check the mops eggs, it could be due to two things:
1. The pair is in one of their breaks from spawning (could last a week or months!)
2. They are eating the eggs! (it is usually the female)
If they are eating the eggs check your mops 3+ times a day (eg. morning, after work or school and before turning the lights off). Sometimes if you keep mops out of the water a few hours and feed them worms or other rich foods and drop the mops in the water an hour after feeding the pair might start spawning straight away. Let them spawn for 30 min. to an hour and check the mop for eggs - remember this is for pairs that eat their eggs! " Serkan
